For a long time, I wondered whether this should be included here, but after all, this is a blog about our adventures and discovering the world. Sometimes we set off to far-flung corners, and sometimes we discover what is right next to us. This time, we decided to... walk to a Peruvian restaurant.
The restaurant is located in the centre of our town, close to the market. It is a very strange and intriguing place. Upon entering, we sensed a peculiar smell and saw the owner running out of the restaurant... We looked around and began to wonder if there was enough space for us. There were only a few guests, but there were... no tables. There were plenty of chairs, but each one was different.
After a while, the owner returned, greeted us warmly, and quickly organised the tables. He surprised us by saying that several dishes from the menu were unavailable, but assured us that everything that was available is fresh. We ordered a bottle of wine and received glasses – each one different. One was slightly cracked, so we wanted to exchange it, but it turned out that... there were no others. They only appeared after a while.
When we got to ordering fish, the owner made a worried face, but after a second he exclaimed: "Oh no! I'll sort this out for you!" He ran out of the restaurant and dashed to the local market. He returned shortly with fresh fish just for us! All of this in such a crazy, mad atmosphere.
We waited for the food while chatting and laughing, and we ordered another bottle of wine. When the food finally arrived, we were delighted. The flavours were amazing, everything was delicious. The owner, although he seemed a bit mad, turned out to be a very positive person. We will definitely go back there!
It was an unforgettable adventure that showed us that even the most unusual places can turn out to be true treasure troves of flavours and emotions
