Picassent is a town in the Horta Sud region, in Spain, located about 18 kilometres south of Valencia. Zit is full of beautiful views! It is here, in a small villa La casa de Gabriel we spent two nights - it was our base for La Tomatina

In a restaurant for the "locals" (Restaurante L'Alter) we had the opportunity to taste delicious paella in the place from which it originates. For those who have never heard of this name:

About paella: Paella is an aromatic dish that is traditionally prepared in a wide, flat pan of the same name. There are many variations of paella, but all contain rice as the main ingredient. The most classic version is paella valenciana, which consists of rice, beans, rabbit and chicken meat, saffron, and other spices.

Other popular varieties include paella de marisco (seafood paella), which contains various types of seafood such as prawns, mussels, and squid, as well as paella mixta, which combines meat and seafood.

Paella is a dish that symbolises family and social gatherings. It is often prepared outdoors and served in large quantities, which encourages communal feasting and sharing..

Returning to the place where we spent the last 2 nights, La casa de Gabriel, look how beautiful it is there
