During our trip with the team from KPRGiBSz, we visited Linderhof Palace - one of the most charming and well-known works of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, located in southern Bavaria, near the village of Ettal. It is the only one of Ludwig's three great palaces that was completed during his lifetime..

Linderhof is known for its opulence and luxury, which can be seen in every detail of its interiors. The palace was inspired by the French Rococo style, and its rooms are richly decorated with gilded ornaments, mirrored walls, and marble fireplaces. One of the most famous rooms is the Mirror Hall, whose walls are covered with mirrors, creating an effect of infinite space.

The gardens around the palace are equally impressive, designed in the French style with symmetrical pathways, fountains, and sculptures. The most distinctive feature of the gardens is the artificial grotto, the Grotto of Venus, inspired by Richard Wagner's opera "Tannhäuser." The grotto is equipped with artificial lighting and a hydrotechnical system that allows for the creation of light and sound effects.

One of the most fascinating elements of the palace is the so-called "magic table" in the dining room, also known as the "self-laying table" (Tischlein-deck-dich), which could be lowered to the kitchen located directly beneath the dining room. This allowed the staff to prepare and set the meals on the table, and then raise it back up to the dining room. King Ludwig II could thus dine in complete solitude, without the presence of servants.

On the table, there is a beautiful basket of flowers entirely made of ... porcelain !

Linderhof Palace, although smaller than other residences of Ludwig II, such as Neuschwanstein or Herrenchiemsee, is a true gem of architecture and landscape art. Its charm and history attract tourists from all over the world who wish to admire the beauty of this place and feel the atmosphere of bygone times.
