It was a joyful Easter

This time we went to: Cauldon - a charming village in the Peak District.

Peak District is one of the oldest national parks in the UK, offering beautiful landscapes, including vast heathlands, deep valleys, and picturesque villages. It is an ideal place for hiking enthusiasts. And that is exactly the kind of hike we set out on. But let's take it step by step.

On Friday afternoon, we left Leicester in our little Skoda.

After just under an hour, we arrived at the location. The beautifully situated Lower Moorend Farm.

The owner, Natalia, and her husband Dan welcomed us. We unpacked and considered what to do next. Below, a short film shows the view we had from the terrace.

Kuba and I liked the idea of staying at home, looking into the distance and doing nothing more, and starting all activities the next day. The girls were eager to see the local pub. Aneta put the meat in the oven (for tomorrow's dinner) and instructed us to turn off the oven in an hour. Then, together with Ancia, she went to that pub. They really liked the place. They also met the owner.

About an hour later, when we turned off the owen, a truly devilish idea was born in my head. I found a picture of a smoky oven on the internet and... I sent it to them in the group chat.

The girls first showed the photo to the owner, who reacted like this

and just after that, they ran home! Meanwhile, we were sitting on the sofa and talking about modern art.

Fortunately, the girls reacted to this with a smile. We had dinner and spent the evening in contemplation...

The next morning, after breakfast with such a view:

After breakfast, we set off on a "short" walk to Thor's Cave. According to Google Maps, we were supposed to walk for about 2 to a maximum of 2.5 hours. We should cover about 6.5 miles, which is approximately 10.5 km.

Our first stop was.. the barn, where the owners kept cows.

Next was the pub. The owner suggested to us which way we should go.

Later there were donkeys

I turned out to be the biggest donkey - it was only here that I switched on the tracker and we could check how far we had gone... I'll talk about that later.

After another few dozen minutes of walking along the trails, meadows and pastures...

After another few dozen minutes of walking along the trails, meadows, and pastures, we arrived near another farm with sheep. We noticed that one of the little ones had got behind the fence and couldn't return to the flock. Kuba ran to get the owner, and together we managed to throw her over the fence. The sheep, not the owner. And there was an incredible amount of noise. The sheep, rams, geese, turkeys - all the animals were screaming, bleating, and doing whatever else they do... By the way, see it in the video:

After saving the world... that little sheep, we went on. Look how much wild garlic was growing there. Tons!

There is so much to write about how beautiful this trail was, one could also add a million photos like this

But I think it's better to show the film

We have arrived at Thor's Cave

The tracker, which as I already mentioned I turned on with the donkeys, showed the following:

Artificial intelligence asked about the jasknię spat this out:

Thor's Cave is a natural limestone cave located in the Manifold Valley in the White Peak, in Staffordshire. The name of the cave may derive from the word "tor," meaning rocky peak, although some suggest connections to the Norse god Thor.

Due to the steep and slippery approach, visitors should exercise caution and wear appropriate footwear.

We spent a moment under the cave, admiring the charms of nature.

We set off on the way back promptly at 14:11. Apparently, the return journey is always quicker. This time it probably was too, especially since we only covered 2/3 of the entire route and called for a taxi. Lazybones!

When we returned home, we felt a great sense of relief that it was all behind us. According to Kuba's watch, we covered 21 km on foot!

The evening passed by the campfire, where we roasted sausages, reminiscing about the old, good times.

In the morning, time seemed to pass more quickly. Before we realised it, it was already 12.

We packed up and left.

We popped into the pub for a moment. You'll find more here

And that was our holiday trip. As usual, it was full of laughter and positive vibes. We can't wait for the next adventure!
