Udało nam się już dwukrotnie gościć na La Tomatinie.
Reports from these expeditions are available here: La tomatina 2022 and La Tomatina 2024
From this article, you will learn how we believe you can prepare well for such a battle.
Firstly - tickets! They can be bought here: https://ticketstomatina.com/ The ticket looks like this:
What to take?
Generally as little as possible!
You definitely need to have tickets, it doesn't matter whether they are printed or in the form of a code on your phone.
It's worth taking a 5-litre bottle of water and an extra cap with holes. This will be your shower! If 5 litres is too much/heavy - take 1.5 litres. It will come in handy! While searching for pictures for this section, I came across this
Lol. If you can afford it - buy it for 80 PLN (about £16). If not - make holes in the spare cap ;)
A good idea is to buy special waterproof phone cases. They can be purchased on-site for a few euros, although it's worth getting them in advance to avoid problems - for example, that your phone is too big!
Make sure to take a small plastic water bottle with you onto the battlefield.
Some suggest taking swimming goggles with you. I took them on my first trip. Look at the photo below to see the difference between the goggles I had on my head during the fight and those that were left at home. I bought both pairs on the same day. We tried to clean the red ones before taking the photo.
Don't forget your towel, a change of trousers, and underwear, because we come back completely wet every time!
We strongly encourage you to purchase t-shirts at the festival. They will make a great souvenir and look fantastic in photos! T-shirts can be bought at the car park in Valencia or in Buñol. The prices are quite reasonable.
And that's probably it. Pack everything into the backpack that you will leave in the storage.
How to dress?
The middle of summer in Spain is really hot. Dress lightly. Shorts, a breathable t-shirt. Take something for your head, a hat or a cap. The clothes you wear will probably not be suitable for normal use afterwards. Tomatoes are very difficult to wash out! If you want to take sunglasses, remember to leave them in the storage!
How to get there?
In our opinion, there is no point in driving to Buñol. The town is closed and the available, wild parking spaces are far away and quickly fill up with cars.
Just a few euros more for the ticket and you can comfortably take a coach from Valencia to a large car park near the station.
In Valencia, you park here:
Parking is HUGE and FREE!
Bus stops are well described.
On the bus, you will receive a wristband, which is your entry ticket.
In Bunol, the coaches park near the train station. Follow the people and you will reach the place where the luggage storage is. Storing a backpack costs 5 euros, but before you hand it in - go a little further and buy a t-shirt!
Then head in this direction
You will reach the roundabout. At it, turn left..
Go down the street until you reach the town, and there you will find the gates leading to the festival grounds.

After the party, look for people who are pouring water - it's your only chance for a shower! Save the bottled water for the end when you're changing into clean clothes!
We recommend trying paella!
Have fun!
