Herrenchiemsee Palace, also known as the New Palace Herrenchiemsee, is one of the most impressive building projects of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The palace is located on the island of Herreninsel in Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria and is often referred to as the "Bavarian Versailles" due to its resemblance to the famous palace in France.

The weather was not in our favour
We therefore focused on viewing the interiors of the palace. Like all the photos on this page, these are also our own. Photography is not allowed in the interiors of German castles, which is why their quality is sometimes poor.
The palace is known for its richly decorated interiors, which reference the Baroque and Rococo styles. The interiors of the palace are filled with gilded details, luxurious furniture, and works of art that reflect Ludwig II's passion for opulence and elegance.
When the weather improved a little, we visited the palace gardens, which are just as impressive as its interiors. They were designed in the style of the gardens of Versailles, with symmetrical pathways, fountains, and sculptures.
One of the most famous features of the gardens is the Fountain of Fame, which is located in front of the palace.
