During our trip to Lake Garda, we visited the Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium. It is the first fully themed aquarium in Italy, located in Castelnuovo del Garda. It is part of the Gardaland Resort, one of the largest amusement parks in Italy.
The aquarium has been designed so that visitors can embark on a journey from the freshwater ecosystems of Lake Garda to the deepest oceans. Inside, there are around 40 themed aquatic tanks, where over 5,000 creatures from about 100 different species can be admired. One of the main attractions is the transparent ocean tunnel, which allows for incredibly close encounters with sharks, rays, and other marine creatures.
We went to the venue on a day when the weather was not at its best. This probably caused us to have to stand in line for almost an hour to get in!
and inside there were real crowds!
The aquarium itself didn't really impress us much. I think the only nice moment was entering the underwater tunnel, where you can observe stingrays, but the whole experience lasts literally just a few minutes and then you're out of the tunnel.
At the very end, there is a restaurant and a small shop, and that's really about it.
