It was a wonderful week spent with family. Four generations enjoyed their time together by Lake Garda, exploring picturesque towns, swimming in the lake, and relaxing at a fantastic campsite.

Upon arriving in Milan, I, Aneta, and Zosia were waiting for our grandparents, who were due to arrive from Poland in an hour. In the meantime, we decided to pick up the rented car. After completing all the formalities at the terminal, I left Aneta and Zosia behind and took the bus to reach the parking lot. When I saw the car, I was in shock – it was completely scratched, with many dents and, worst of all, terribly dirty!
When I approached the rental employee and showed him the condition of the car, he replied that everything was fine and he didn't see any problems! It turned out that he didn't speak English and thought I was complaining about scratches! Since I had to return to the airport, I asked him to wash the car. After about an hour, we returned and the car looked a bit better, but I still think the rental company should be ashamed!
We packed ourselves into the car and drove to our campsite. We travelled for over an hour, mainly on the toll motorway A4...
We arrived at the place just before twelve. At the reception, we were told that our cottage wouldn't be ready until 4 PM. So, we became homeless in a foreign country ;)
So we went to explore the centre, have lunch, and relax by the lake.
We had our first pizza of the trip at the restaurant on the premises of the resort.
We picked up the keys to the cottage before 4 PM. We went to unpack and spent the rest of the day chilling.
The next day, precisely at 9:41, the children arrived in a burgundy bus! Martyna, Krzyś, Hania, and Franek, as well as their friends Marta, Dominik, and their son Szymon. Great!
And just like us, they were homeless until they were 16! So they parked next to our booth. While they were sorting out the formalities, I took the kids and went to show them the pool.
In the late afternoon, when the kids had already settled into their little houses, Grandma Ancia and I took the grandchildren on a short trip.
In the evening, we went to see what activities the centre had prepared. The kids were already there.
We arrived there at the beginning of the season. The animations were interesting and full of humour, as the team was just learning to work together. They had many funny mishaps, technical problems, and their dancing was not perfectly synchronised, but despite that, they kept smiling. They laughed at each other, and we laughed along with them. It was truly a positive experience!
In excellent spirits, we returned to our cottages.
On the third day, the rain woke us up in the morning.
We decided to use this day for sightseeing.
The first attraction was a large aquarium Sea Life
And then we went to Lazise
In the evening, we went to the port near our campsite to learn more about how passenger ferries operate. We were planning the following days.
Day four was once again a day of sightseeing
First, almost an hour and a half by car to the town of Riva
And then by passenger ship to Limone Sul Garda
This poor woman got hit on the head by me a few more times. I apologise, madam, I must have been so clumsy out of excitement! The route we took looked like this:
On that day, precisely because of it, in Limone Sul Garda, we all dressed in outfits with lemon motifs
Day five is a day of laziness! That's how we decided together.
It was poolside, lakeside, slept and eaten.
That day I visited the Oliwa Museum
And so time flowed lazily. We felt the holiday atmosphere.
Day six is a day of adventure! We hired a motorboat!
We swam for almost three hours in total. It was great!
In the afternoon, we went for a walk with Grandma Ancia to the neighbouring town - Bardolino
Day seven - once again a day of sightseeing. This time we chose Sirmione as our destination.
It wasn't the best idea, almost a 40-minute drive,
later searching for parking, a half-hour walk just to squeeze between people. There were really a lot of people.
A positive highlight was the swim in the lake. The water was pleasantly cool. We also met a large group of Poles, including Polish women, who were singing!
The eighth day was the day of our return. The kids had one more day to make use of.
We got up at 3 in the morning and went to the airport.
On the way, moments, literally a minute in front of us, when I was showing everyone where I needed to park the car, an accident happened. The car ended up on its roof. I took this photo later when I was going to return the car. When I was leaving the car park, there was no trace of the wreck, which in our opinion means that no one was injured. There was no need for a lengthy investigation and the road could be cleared quickly.
And that was our trip. We can't wait for the next one!
