The Soap Box Derby in Ashby-de-la-Zouch is an annual event that took place on Sunday, 18th May 2025, on Market Street. This event attracts both participants and spectators, offering exciting races of hand-built, non-motorised vehicles.
Key information:
- Route: approximately 200 metres long, with bends, jumps and obstacles.
- Race start: 10:00 AM.
- Registration and technical inspection: from 8:00 to 9:30.
- Age categories: youth (12–17 years) and adults (18+).
- Entry fee: £30 per team.
- Awards: for the fastest vehicle, the most creative design, and the most spectacular ride.
This event is not just about racing – it is also a celebration of creativity, engineering, and good fun for the whole family. Participants build their vehicles with speed, style, and spectacle in mind, while the audience can expect a great atmosphere and plenty of excitement.
