Nottingham is a city in central England, known for the legend of Robin Hood and its rich history. The University of Nottingham, which we plan to visit, is one of the leading universities in the UK, belonging to the prestigious Russell Group. The University Park campus is beautifully situated and offers many attractions, including gardens and lakes.
During a visit to Nottingham, it is also worth seeing a few other places. Nottingham Castle is a historic fortress with a museum that tells the story of the city and the legend of Robin Hood. Wollaton Hall is an impressive 16th-century mansion surrounded by beautiful parkland and gardens, where you can encounter wild deer. A couple of years ago, we already visited Nottingham, but at that time Nottingham Castle was closed, so perhaps this time we will manage to visit it.
On the last weekend of June, many interesting events take place in Nottingham. You can take part in the Pre-Pride Ice Skating Disco at the National Ice Centre, where diversity and inclusivity are celebrated on the ice rink. If someone enjoys country music, it's worth going to a concert at Belvoir Castle. For history and technology enthusiasts, Steaming Sunday is held at the Nottingham Industrial Museum, where you can see working steam machines.
